As a full service provider of organic vegetable/herb gardens to home owners, we are now one of only 16 companies in New Jersey to receive the Rutgers Organic Land Care Certification, and the only business specializing in home vegetable gardens to receive this certification. The certification process, offered by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE), focused on “sustainable, environmentally-friendly land care practices that improve soil health, promote biodiversity and reduce negative impacts on home landscapes as well as NJ’s natural resources”. With this certification Oasis Backyard Farms is continuing to pioneer the organic movement in NJ!
Founded in 2009 by Renee Mongiovi, Oasis Backyard Farms’ motto is "Making the Garden State greener one home at a time". "I was introduced to vegetable gardening as a child and back then it was more of a necessity for our family, but I loved it! As I continued to garden into my adult years it became more of a hobby providing a wonderful outlet from the corporate world. Then one day I woke up and knew what I wanted to do... hence, Oasis Backyard Farms!"
Due to the growing interest in healthier lifestyles and organic produce, Oasis Backyard Farms has grown too. This past year in addition to adding new associates to meet the needs of our growing customer base, an accomplished certified Master Gardener, Claudia Kolster has joined the ranks. She too completed the certification course mentioned above. Her expertise, hard work, dedication, knowledge of plants, beneficials, IPM and true love of gardening has been a true asset to the company!
